Brushed Metal Texture Roller
Brushed Metal Texture Roller
This polymer clay texture roller creates a realistic brushed metal pattern.
To achieve the brushed metal look on clay, choose a metallic polymer clay. You can also choose to add mica powder or foil to your clay for an even more realistic look. Our product images show clay with both foil and mica powder. Mica powder can be brushed on after the texture is rolled onto the clay, while foil is best applied before the texture is rolled out.
If you apply foil to your clay slab, make sure to use a clay color that's as close as possible to the color of the foil. You'll likely end up with some cracks in the foil, so it's best to make sure the clay is a color that will camouflage easily. To avoid cracks in the foil, press gently when rolling the texture over foil. A very minimal amount of pressure is necessary to create this texture.
Both mica powder and foil will need to be sealed after baking. We recommend UV resin or water-based polyurethane.
Pattern on roller is approximately 7.5 cm (3 in) wide.
