The embedder tools are meticulously designed to work seamlessly with clay rolled to this exact thickness. Using the correct thickness is key to achieving the perfect volume for the round piece cut by the cutter tool. If the clay is too thick, the cut piece may have excess volume, leading to a rough edge when shaped with the dome tool. On the flip side, if the clay is too thin, you risk having an edge where it shouldn't be. The lack of sufficient clay around the earring back may jeopardize proper embedding.

Size Options: Select the kit that suits your needs by choosing from five different sizes - 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 mm. We intentionally excluded a dedicated Embedder kit for 7 mm earring posts due to their extreme rarity. However, rest assured that the 8 mm kit will seamlessly accommodate 7 mm earring posts. To ensure the perfect fit for your designs, refer to the sizing table below. This table provides information on each tool's dome diameter, allowing you to confirm that the dome won't exceed your preferred earring size. Each size of the Earring Embedder Tool is designed to correspond to the diameter of the flat pad on earring posts. The tool sizes ensure that the clay dome created perfectly matches the earring post's flat pad size, providing a secure and seamless embedding. For example, a 3mm embedder is ideal for earring posts with a 3mm flat pad, while an 8mm embedder is best suited for posts with an 8mm flat pad. Choosing the correct size ensures optimal adhesion and a professional finish for your polymer clay earrings.
The size of the Embedder Tool you choose depends on the size of the earring posts you typically use and the size of your earrings. The most commonly sold size is the 4mm embedder, which creates a 9mm clay dome. This size is versatile and fits well on the backs of most studs. If you usually make smaller earrings, consider using the 3mm or 4mm posts, as they produce smaller domes (8mm and 9mm, respectively) that suit petite designs. For larger studs, the 6mm or 8mm posts are ideal, with the 6mm tool creating an 11mm dome and the 8mm tool producing a 12mm dome. Choosing the right size ensures that the dome is proportionate to the earring, providing a secure and aesthetically pleasing finish.
While it's possible to use a larger embedder tool with a smaller earring post flat pad, avoid using a smaller embedder on a larger flat pad. For example, you can use an 5mm embedder tool for a 4mm earring post flat pad, but using a 4mm embedder tool on a 5mm earring post won't work. Using a smaller earring post will also require some adjustments. Our calculations ensure a precise clay volume for a smooth dome. Using a smaller flat pad may necessitate experimenting with slightly thicker clay. You can adjust the thickness by adding pieces of tape to the thickness guides, fine-tuning the volume for a perfect, smooth embedment.
The 1.5mm Thickness Guides ensure that the clay is rolled out to the precise thickness needed for optimal results. This is crucial for creating a smooth and stable embedding of earring posts.
We strongly recommend using the provided 1.5mm Thickness Guides, as they are specifically designed for this tool. Other settings may result in incorrect clay thickness, affecting the embedding process.
Absolutely! The 8mm kit works seamlessly with 7mm earring posts. We've opted not to provide a separate kit for 7mm due to its rarity.
The dome is intentionally subtle, ensuring a polished and professional appearance. It is not easily visible unless you closely inspect or manipulate the ear. Our design prioritizes a seamless look without compromising comfort.
The dome adds only 1.3 mm of clay on top of the flat pad. After embedding, the post length is approximately 10.7 mm, considering that typical earring posts are around 12 mm. Extensive tests with different individuals revealed no discomfort during wear. This adjustment is in line with standard embedding practices, ensuring both a secure attachment and comfortable wear.
No, the Earring Embedder Kit does not include earring posts. The kit includes the embedder tools only, designed to perfectly match the earring post size you select. Be sure to have your own flat pad earring posts to use with the embedder.
The tool was specifically designed to accommodate metal earring posts, taking into consideration both post thickness and flat pad thickness. While it might work with plastic earring posts of similar dimensions to metal ones, users may encounter difficulties due to differences in thickness. In such cases, a workaround such as widening the hole in the dome tool or drilling a recess into the earring to compensate for thicker posts may be necessary. We recommend testing compatibility with your specific earring posts or reaching out to us for assistance.
We recommend using well-conditioned, durable clay capable of withstanding wear and tear. Note that clay like Sculpey III, which is not as durable when thin, is not recommended for use with the Embedder Kit.
To prevent sticking, always apply a release agent to the Embedder Tool before use. You can use cornstarch, water, or dimethicone (ArmorAll) as a release agent. If you're using a liquid release agent, keep a small sponge nearby saturated with water or dimethicone. Stamp the Embedder onto the sponge during the embedding process for smooth and easy application without sticking.
Clean the Embedder Tool with a soft brush or cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. For stubborn residues, gently wipe with a damp cloth. If the hole in the dome tool becomes clogged, you can manually clean it with a 0.75 mm drill bit. These tools are not dishwasher safe.
Yes, polymer clay can be baked multiple times without burning. Ensure each baking session follows the recommended temperature guidelines for the specific clay you're using.

This tool is an absolute game-changer! I needed a way to add posts to my earrings neatly, and this works so well. I was initially intimidated by the embedder, but I took my time and followed the directions (make sure you have cornstarch on hand!) and learned the process very quickly. My only regret is that I didn’t buy this embedding kit sooner! It was so easy to use and I loved that they provided a QR code with a link to a video tutorial. This helped me embed on the first attempt, and feels like they thought of everything. I don’t make studs. Not going to lie, I’ve been too scared to make them. I never want to sell something that could break and disappoint a customer so I just avoided studs and stuck to dangle earrings. Now I don’t have to avoid them anymore! Love it!

This bad boy is genius! I’d put in a pic, but I sent the earrings to my stepdaughter and she loves them! The posts are so secure using this method. I plan on making quite a bit of stud designs and this will make my work easy and make it last as well! Great tools!!

I am obsessed with this tool! I never used to make studs because I know using resin can be dangerous. I have a friend who can't even us gel nail polish, she so sensitive. I didn't want to risk it as I start venturing into selling my earrings. I have tried using liquid clay to embed, but it does seem to pull off sometimes, and I'm not sure why. I had just started trying to embed with solid clay, but it takes way too long. If I'm going to try to sell studs for $10, I need the process to be faster. Using this tool, it's done in SECONDS. I mean, it takes a moment to roll the clay out and cut the little circles as well, but all together, it's definitely under a minute per pair of earrings. Some things I ran into as I was learning how to use the tool... First of all, I would definitely check out the instruction page for this before trying to use it. It's easy to use, but you have to use it right. I watched the video, but I didn't bake long enough at first, and the pieces of clay were popping off. Now I bake for an hour or so, and it's perfect. I thought I could use a setting on my pasta machine that was close to the same as the depth guides, but that was causing a lot of issues. I now roll the clay to a #3 on my machine and then use the guides to roll the clay down to the right thickness. I also got some clay, or maybe a mixture of clay and cornstarch stuck in the little hole. I wrote them and they told me to use a .75mm drill bit to clean it out. I found a bit that seems close to that because it worked perfectly. I really love this tool and this company. They were super helpful when I reached out with my question. I will always recommend them and this tool specifically.

First time using the post embedding tool..OMG!! This is the best thing EVER! I tried it on one stud set and immediately went and ordered the 4mm size.. I have the 8mm and it does work for the 6mm. But any smaller, well I didn't want to chance it!! Scarlet you are a genius! If anyone is on the fence and not sure about this...JUST ORDER IT!! I can't recommend this highly enough!!
I actually had an epic fail the first time I tried using this but Scarlet was so awesome and worked with me to figure out what went wrong. It was my fault. I haven’t had any fails since. This tool has helped me so much with having a more consistent professional looking product plus saves time. I love it. I got 2 sizes the 3mm & 5mm. The 5mm can also be used for 4mm posts. I do use a lot of cornstarch so it doesn’t stick and found it sticks in the hole where the posts goes but can easily be cleaned out with a small drill bit. I love this tool and it makes me not hate doing studs as much now.
Works great. Clay tends to get stuck if you don’t use corn starch but other than that I thinks it’s amazing

I need to buy another different size set! This tool is a must-have for making polymer clay post earrings. I have tried other methods of embedding posts, but this is the best! I made a couple of Couple of mistakes when trying to use it. I think I know now what I did wrong and I am definitely gonna try it again and it has nothing to do with the thing not working. It has to do with my not knowing how to work it! Haven’t been back in the clay room for a few days, so I’m gonna try it out this weekend. I really think it’s a clever gadget and I think I’m going to love it even more than I love it now!
